Texas Medical Bill Assistance

The vast majority of financial counseling centers located in Texas are prepared to help you manage your medical bills. There is a misconception that they only work with credit card debt. In fact, medical bills and many loans are also eligible.

Consider these nonprofit charities that provide financial counseling to Texas residents:

Money Management International has the largest network of nonprofit member NFCC

agencies. Call 1-866-889-9347 to schedule an in person appointment. MMI has locations in Abilene, Beaumont, Bedford, Bryan, Burleson, Fort Hood, Fort Worth, Houston, Humble, Killeen, Lake Jackson, Lubbock, Mansfield, Odessa, San Angelo, Stafford, Southlake, Texas City, The Woodlands and Waco.

You may also get help with credit cards and medical bills through Personal Financial Network. Call 1-866-406-4132.

Owing substantial medical debt can sometimes cause problems when you still need continuous medical treatment. If you still owe your doctors, you might consider free health clinics that serve Texas residents.

There is a Volunteer Healthcare Clinic that provides basic health services in Austin. Call 1-512-459-6002.

If you are an Illegal alien, you may receive free basic healthcare through the Mexican Consulate.

Medical bills do not have to keep you from getting the healthcare you need. In addition, your finances should not suffer if you find yourself having difficulties paying. Get the assistance you need!

If you are convinced that your bills are inflated and you want a second opinion, consider talking with a medical billing advocate. These advocates are registered with Medical Billing Advocates of America:
